TOP OF THE POPS SHIRT
TOP OF THE POPS SHIRT
It's fun to lose and to defend.
• Red and black flannel shirt inspired by Nirvana's appearance at Top of the Pops on November, 27 1991.
• For the story, the BBC wanted Nirvana to lip sync their performance of their hit "Smell Like A Teen's Spirit". As a sign of protest, the trio decided to sabotage the show. That is how Kurt Cobain began to sing in a deep voice "Load up on drugs, kill your friends" instead of the original lyrics.
• 6 sublimation-printed patches of Kurt Cobain's performance in which he started swallowing the microphone.
• 1 patch about how Nirvana felt about the success of their most popular song.
• Hand-cut letters patches of the butchered lyrics in the back and the date of the show on the right arm.
• Handmade in France
• From sewing to shipping, this upcycled shirt needs 2 weeks maximum to be made.
